Therapy Dog

Poet joined the Family Plus team in April of 2023. She is a certified Dog Guide, trained by the incredible team at the Lion’s Foundation of Canada Dog Guides program. Poet was literally born to do this work.  She has won the hearts of the team at Family Plus and the clients.  Poet can attend medicals, interviews, and therapy sessions at Kit’s Place and Family Plus.  She is in high demand and loved by all who meet her.  Recently, Poet was praised for the comfort and confidence she gave a client who was dealing with a pretty difficult situation.  When not on duty, Poet can be found in various staff offices, snoozing on her bed in the board room, or begging for treats.  In her spare time, Poet loves to go for long walks, play fetch, snuggle with her Nanny, tolerate her cat siblings, and hang out with her mom.  When we asked Poet why she loves to work at Family Plus, she told her Interpreter that she loves to help people when they are struggling, and she loves her teammates.
