Brenda Wright
M.ED., LCT, CCC
Brenda is a Licensed Counselling Therapist with the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick and is also certified through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She holds a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education (UNB Fredericton), a Master of Education in Adult Education (St. Francis Xavier University), and a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology (UNB Fredericton).
With over 13 years of experience as a therapist, Brenda also brings her expertise as a meditation teacher. She applies an integrative approach to therapy, working holistically with adult clients.
Her training includes Counselling Survivors of Sexual Violence, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), along with numerous professional development courses in other therapeutic modalities.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Brenda worked for over fifteen years in a variety of adult education and leadership roles in the non-profit sector assisting vulnerable and diverse populations. She has also worked in post-secondary education and with the provincial government.
Brenda provides individual therapy and group support, from a feminist perspective, to survivors of sexual violence and their families. She also works with clients experiencing trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. She is passionate about assisting adult clients to obtain an increased sense of personal value and self worth.
