The next step is meeting with a counselor where he/she will discuss your concerns with you. The counselor will distribute a questionnaire, relating to your child's performance and behaviour in a number of areas at home and school. Both you and the classroom teacher will complete these. This data is entered into the computer and a report is generated.
After the initial meeting with the counselor, if testing is necessary, your child will meet with Dr. King. The first session lasts two hours and future appointments are determined depending upon the outcome of the assessment.
The end result is that Dr. King will explain the results of the report with you. A copy is given to the parents and the school. In this report, he will make a diagnosis and recommend the appropriate method of treatment.
