Ashley graduated from St. Thomas University with a Bachelor or Arts focussed in Human Rights and Great Ideas. She also graduated from Dalhousie University with Distinction with a Bachelor of Social Work and received her Masters in Social Work degree from Memorial University.  She has certifications and specialized training in counselling Survivors of Sexual Violence, Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention, Brainstory, Brief Solution Focussed Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She is a registered Social Worker with the NBASW. Ashley is a member of the clinical team at Family Plus, and also coordinates the Saint John Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). As a Therapist, she works from a Feminist, Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed lens, specializing in working with teens and adults who have experienced sexual violence. In her role as SART Coordinator she works with community partners to provide education on sexual violence and consent; as well as to advocate for cohesive and trauma informed services for survivors of sexual violence. Ashley also has experience supporting the wellness and settlement needs of refugee claimants and other newcomers to Canada.
